I know this song has been floating around on the Internet(s) for the past week, but I felt it was important to showcase this song on what would have been J Dilla's 38th birthday today (Jan. 7). Sadly, the legendary studio maestro passed away on Feb. 10, 2006, after a long bout with lupus.
Waajeed from Platinum Pied Pipers unearthed this rare Dilla freestyle (circa 1997) called "Clap Your Hands." It's the rugged and raw Dilla that we always loved from him.
Beats and Rants has done countless of tributes to the late hip-hop producer (you can read them all HERE) and will continue to do so.
