Monday Madness: 15 iTunes Hits

I haven't done this in awhile, so I figured I bring back. I just simply went to the "Party Shuffle," hit "Refresh" and tah-dah! What you're looking at are the top 15 randomly selected joints out of 600 songs that are stored in my iTunes.

Moving along . . .

I have been in a jazzy mood lately. So below are two of my favortie jazz CDs that are currently getting major spins in my ipod nano.

For the record: Everything is fine with my iPod nano. No shattered screens or scratches. I'm happy with it. But yes, Apple needs to release cases for their iPods. They are too easily scratch-proned and hard to clean.

My two favorite jazz CDs:

Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane -- At Carnegie Hall
(Blue Note Records)

Two geniuses performing on stage together -- LIVE. This now is truly a jazz collection to savor. To listen to a few selections from the disc, click HERE.

Soulive -- Breakout
(Concord Records)

This group has never released a bad record. Their muscular grooves, jazzy musical forms and guest vocalists make this a must-have. Corey Glover (of Living Colour, the '80s rock band), Chaka Khan and others appear on the disc. If you're looking for some soulful jazz, break out a few dollars and cop this disc. Holla!
