Yes, We Can Call Him The President-Elect!

Yes, we did it!

Barack Hussein Obama will become our 44th President in January.

It was an extraordinary Election. This is truly Black History.

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you -- we as a people will get there.

"So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, its that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers -- in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.

"This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time -- to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth -- that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we cant, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America."

Ba-Rock The Vote!

Funnyman Chris Rock was in Florida last weekend and spoke to a crowd of over 1,000 people at a voter-awareness rally, encouraging them to Vote today (Nov. 4). Chris told audiences that they should vote for the person they can relate to and understand.

"The election is about the economy. You need a president that can see broke. McCain [can't] see broke," he told the spectators as their cheers turned into collective laughter. "When you go to somebody for help you want somebody who can relate to what you have to say. Like if I have problems getting laid, I wouldn't call Brad Pitt 'cause he wouldn't know what I was talking about."
Chris then joked that on Halloween, he took his kids trick-or-treating to all of Sen. John McCain's houses (for the record: McCain has seven homes).
"There was way too many houses," he said, as the crowd laughed. "McCain was on MTV's Cribs 15 times. This is not the guy you want to be president."
On getting out the vote: "Get your retarded uncle. Get him to vote. Anybody you know with an arm, bring him down."

Alicia Keys offers a voting tip before you head down to the polls:

Make sure you Barack the Vote today!

Katy Perry VOTED . . . and she liked it! So go out and vote!

I did!

Twist And Shout

Here's another video from my Bahamas summer vacation. This clip is from the nighttime cruise party on the Carnival's Fascination ship. There were a lively bunch of people, including a nice woman named Crystal who was onboard celebrating her 50th birthday in her birthday bathing suit. Partygoers had fun twisting the night away. The people who are shouting "You wish you were the Red Team" are, in fact, the red team who were big winners in a game against the blue team before the dance off. I also shot some footage of partygoers "walking it out" on the dance floor.

The Choice Is Yours

The Internets are already doing their victory dance thinking that Barack Obama's entry into the White House is a sure thing. HOLD ON! Not so fast. Election Day is on Nov. 4 and it's not over until it's over. Ya dig?

Having said that, here's a video parody of an animated version of Barack Obama performing T.I.'s empowering anthem "Live Your Life." The clip is called "Get a Life."

There are some questionable racial undertones on display in the aforementioned video, but I'm going to let that slide and heed the words of funnyman David Alan Grier: "Be Cool, Black People!" (watch video below)

Freakin' heee-larious!

And finally, Native Tongues alum Dres (from Black Sheep) remixes his classic joint "The Choice Is Yours" and updates it for the upcoming elections.

Dres -- "The Choice Is Yours" (Tasters Remix) [Voter PSA]

The choice is indeed yours -- do you want change or the same old bullshit?
Go out and rock the vote, dammit! Don't forget, Nov. 4!
