She Knocks Me Out

She's Turning Me On: R&B Cutie Keri Hilson

Honestly, I wasn't really feeling singer-songwriter Keri Hilson at first. Her 2008 single, "Energy," was OK, but it didn't catch my ear. Then she dropped the awful techno-club clunker "Return the Favor" and I was  completely turned off. Her latest single, "Turning Me On" (featuring Lil Wayne), put the R&B cutie back into the spotlight and at the top of the music charts. Keri also has been vlogging regularly on her official website, pissing people off on YouTube and looking fine as hell at her shows via the I Am Music tour (featuring Weezy F. Baby). You go girl!

And after watching Keri's new video for "Knock You Down" (Featuring Kanye West & Ne-Yo), I am hooked! I'm officially joining the Keri Hilson fan club.

In this superbly directed clip, Keri is caught in a love triangle between rap superstar Kanye West and R&B nobleman Ne-Yo. Not to mention we get to see the R&B starlet's
loong legs and booty in bed. As for the song, it's bouncy and fun. I downloaded it in my iPod and it's in heavy rotation.

In a perfect world, I would be lying in the bed butt-nekkid with Keri.

But in reality, I have to get up five days a week and bust my hump at my 9-to-5 gig.

Not really.

Keri's melodic ballad "Make Love" is also a standout. The teaser video (shown above), features Keri as she pulls out the chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne for a romantic night with, once again, Mr. 808s & Heartbreak. (There goes Yeezy crushing my dreams again!) The video is quite lovely.

Now will these two videos
make Keri Hilson a R&B star?

I think so. Maybe not as big as Beyoncé, though.

But in a perfect world . . . such questions would be mute.

Holla!

This Is Sooo Wrong . . .

But so damn funny.

Yeah, I know. I'm going to hell for posting this video.

The clip was directed by comedian Kenny Johnson who also plays the Chris Brown character. So send all of the hate mail to him. Ha!

On a serious note, domestic abuse and violence against women is no laughing matter.

Sadly, there are some teenage girls who still support Chris Brown and think that Rihanna provoked the alleged beat down. Please read this disturbing New York Times article -- "Teenage Girls Stand by Their Man."  (Their man is Chris Brown . . . )

"She (Rihanna) probably made him mad for him to react like that. You know, like, bring it on? "
-- An unidentified New York ninth grader after seeing photos of a battered and bruised Rihanna

According to a Boston survey of 200 young adults, 46 percent said Rihanna was responsible for what happened and 52 percent said both bore responsibility.

Now that's whoa! Ladies, it's never okay for a man to beat you. Stop the madness!

Meanwhile, the alleged fight between Chrihanna has prompted teen organization DoSomething.org to release an online public service announcement about dating abuse. Using the Los Angeles Police Department's affadivit on the incident,  two actors reenact the Feb. 8 altercation in which Chris allegedly bit, choked and punched Rihanna. "I think people need to realize that this is an issue that goes beyond those particular people," says DoSomething.org CEO Nancy Lublin. "It affects everybody of every race."

Monday Music Meme: Think B.I.G.

In Memoriam: Notorious B.I.G.

Reader's Note:  Totally coincidental. I did this meme on Thursday so I can post it on Monday. I just realized that today is the 12th anniversary of the untimely death of Notorious B.I.G.  Looking at this meme, I noticed there are a few Biggie tracks on the list. So this meme is in honor of the B.I.G. man, himself. Rest in Peace, Big Poppa.

I swiped this meme from blogger/journalist Adam B.

Cruz Control

Even though 50 Cent is on a mission to ruin Rick Ross' career with his "Officer Ricky" cartoons, I'm feeling the Miami rhyme-slinger's new single, "Magnificent" (featuring John Legend).

If you don't know already, I love Miami. I can't get enough of the sunny weather, the fine women, the sandy beaches, the nightlife and the great food.

And since I'm living in the Northeast, and we are about to get hit with our first major snowstorm, I figured I bring some booty, er, I'm mean, heat to this blog and introduce you guys to this fwwwwine-ass girl from New York City. Coincidentally, this lovely vixen will be in the M-I-A doing a photoshoot on March 5-9, 2009. Damn! I wish I could join her.

So without further ado . . .
