Leading up to the May 4 release of his digital-only instrumental LP The Quixotic, producer Ayatollah has launch a "remix" series where he grabs some of hip-hop's classic lyrics and mixes them with instrumentals from his upcoming LP.
First up, the studio maverick takes lyrics from the 1994 borough anthem "Crooklyn" by the Crooklyn Dodgers (Special Ed, Masta Ace and Buckshot) and combines it with his track "Hope of Deliverance."
The result is a solemn, piano-driven ode to Brooklyn.
For the second selection, 'Tollah mixed Ghostface's verse from "Mighty Healthy" (via Supreme Clientele) with the doo-wop sounds of his instrumental track, "Fallin Love."
The result is a lovely and soulful Ghostdini-Tollah joint.
