The Ave x Gang Starr x Converse All-Stars

Gang Starr Chuck Taylors

DJ Premier and California clothing store The Ave Venice have teamed up to produce a custom-made Converse All-Star Chuck Taylor in honor of the late rapper Keith "Guru" Elam. The "Gang Starr" Chuck Taylor ($75) features a spray-painted replica of the Gang Starr mural located on 174th Street in the Bronx. Guru's image is painted on the left side of the shoe, while Preemo's image is printed on the right side. Also, the Gang Starr "chain" emblem is featured on the tongue. These custom sneakers are available exclusively at the Ave Venice and come in sizes 3 to 13.

And a good reason why you should cop these: a portion of the sales will be donated to a trust fund for Guru's son.

New Video: U-N-I - "Black Sky"

Two 'Black': Rappers U-N-I

Inglewood, Calif. rap duo U-N-I has released a new visual for the song "Black Friday." The clip features the lovely Playboy model Felicia Gomez who plays the love interest of both rappers Y-O and Thurzday.

The real shocker is Y-O's new haircut. For years, he was known for rocking a mohawk and now he's sporting a fresh crew cut. As Y-O puts it, he's "Thurzday clean."

New Video: Black Milk - Deadly Medley (F/ Royce Da 5'9" & Elzhi)

Milking It: Rapper Black Milk

Black Milk -- "Deadly Medley" (Featuring Royce Da 5'9" & Elzhi)

Black Milk drops an official video for his first single, "Deadly Medley," from his forthcoming LP Album of the Year (Sept. 14). He brought along two of Detroit's lethal rhyme-sayers Royce Da 5'9" and Elzhi for some lyrical assists  on the track. Talk about a hip-hop trifecta.

Props to director Gerard Victor Atillo on the visuals.
