Wow! This is a must listen. Kanye West and Mos Def made a surprise appearance at the Robert Glasper Experiment show last Saturday at New York's famed Blue Note Jazz club and turned the stage into their own confessional booth.

With Robert Glasper's band backing him up, Yeezy grabbed the mic to spit a candid freestyle about the backlash he received over his infamous outburst at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The Chicago rapper claims he's being victimized by the media for being too honest. "Truth be told, the last nigga to ever let the truth be told," he spits to an enthused audience. He latter added: "People try to tell 'em that I hate the Whites, cause I say what's right."

During his 5-minute rant, West spitted a lot of great lines ("All this Illuminati talk, like my first hit single wasn't 'Jesus Walks'") and bizarre ones, too ("This is like the Neo-Emmett Till/ Whistlin' will get your ass killed"). He also alluded to Steve Stoute's gripe with the Grammys expressing his concerns that he might be overlooked next year. "Now I'm scared of the Grammys/ 'Cause everybody know that Dark Fantasy was the highest rated album in history, get me?"

Mos Def, who was also on stage, followed West with his own confessional freestyle, revealing that he recently buried his grandmother.

New music from the newly-minted rap tag-team of Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg. The song is from the soundtrack of the duo's upcoming flick High School (due April 20). I love the soft piano, sing-songy chorus and the beat, which has an old-school but new-school feel to it.

According to NodFactor, this song was not intended for release and was recorded back in 2006. Apparently, J. Cole unveiled the track on his UStream show last Saturday in celebration of 400,000 followers on his Twitter page. Produced by the Klasix, this is a banging remix with J. Cole spitting a few sophomoric party rhymes. This is not a bad collaborative song despite the dated lyrics from the late Notorious B.I.G. and Hollywood Cole.

The original track can be found on Biggie's posthumous 1999 album Born Again.

If you are not familiar with the production trio the Klasix, they have work with a few notable artists like Joe Budden (Mood Muzik series), R&B singer Joe and pop/club songstress Kat DeLuna. Watch an interview with them HERE.

When he's isn't acting a fool on NBC's hottest new sitcom Community, comedian-actor Donald Glover is pursuing his side hustle as a rapper under the alias Childish Gambino. He has posted a few songs on his website iamdonald.com. Now comes the video for "Freaks and Geeks," the first single from his upcoming project the EP (due March 8).

It's a simple performance piece featuring Glover's sophomoric double entendres. If you listen closely, there are a few random (yet funny) PAUSE-worthy rap lines. My favorite: "Fly girl on her knee, she don't want to come near me/ And my dick is too big/ There's a big bang theory."

Glover will make his debut as the rapper Childish Gambino during the SXSW festival on March 21 at Red 7 Patio in Austin, TX. In support of the EP, he will also embark on his I Am Donald comedy/rap tour, which kicks off April 16 in Ames, IA.

Dr. Dre returns with a dramatic new video for his latest single "I Need a Doctor," which was directed by filmmaker Allen Hughes (Menace II Society). The song is from Dre's highly anticipated third solo LP Detox. Although no official release date has been set for the album, it looks as if the project will finally hit stores after a 10-year delay.

The clip starts off with Dre reflecting on his storied music career with N.W.A., his early days with fellow rappers Snoop Dogg and 2Pac, as well as his personal life. Then, while driving his Porsche, he gets into a severe car accident, which leaves him in a coma. But thanks to Eminem's inspiring rhymes saluting the good doctor for helping him become one of the best rappers in the game, Dre eventually awakens from his coma and rehabilitates himself back to health.

The video ends touchingly with Dr. Dre visiting the graveside of his once friend-turned-rival Eric "Easy-E" Wright. Their historic feud led to some heated diss records between them, but Dre reconciled with Easy-E shortly before he died of AIDS on March 26, 1995.
